I spent months looking instores and online trying to find a bedding set that had the right purple in it, as I had already bought the paint color I wanted for the accent wall in my master bedroom. I had a hard time finding anything at all here in Houston that was even near that dark of purple. I saw this set on Amazon like 2 months ago but was concerned with some of the reviews that said the color was more burgundy than purple. I then saw a recent comment by the seller ensuring that it is a true purple. I ordered it along with the black cover blanket and black shams to accent and this set doesn't disappoint. It looks absolutely elegant against my black bedroom furniture and I can't wait to put the purple paint on the wall behind my bed to really make it pop. The seller shipped quickly and arrived in the advertised deep purple! I washed both sets prior to putting them on my bed following the washing instructions on the tag and both sets came out perfectly fine. I will note though I do have a top load washer with no agitator... I washed it on the bedding setting, and changed the water temperature too cold.The comforter itself is on the thinner side in comparison to some others but as I mentioned I live in Texas and prefer a thinner comforter as I normally get hot when I sleep. I also own a 13in Tempur-Pedic mattress and the comforter more than covers the entire mattress and both sides so there's enough comforter to go around.I would definitely recommend this product.My initial review of this product was that I was disgusted because we spent a very HEFTY amount of money re-doing our bedroom, everything from: custom oil paintings, the best of the best foam lined hotel style curtains, custom rugs, Egyptian cotton sheets, throw pillows, dresser deco, etc... as the pieces arrived I was so extremely happy to see my vision coming together! Then this piece arrived and all I could do was cry. It wasn't the deep dark purple I had ordered - which is my favorite color, but it was so bright of a maroon it was almost pink looking. It threw off my entire bedroom scheme, and everything looked horrid, and mismatched. After I wrote my review this company contacted my husband, apologized to him for the inconvenience, and agreed that I was right on the color. BUT they didn't stop there! They adjusted the colors of their products, and not only told us to keep the original one, but that they wanted to send me a new one free of charge that is true to color! I figured it was a marketing type scheme, and pushed it to the back of my mind...until my NEW FREE TRUE TO COLOR set just arrived! NOW THATS customer service! I did my room in deep purple, some silver, and black. They went above and beyond to fix this discrepancy and I couldn't be happier! I also have a new respect for their customer service, and my bedroom now looks FANTASTIC!!! I back this product - and the colors to be true, and was so impressed they just assuredly made repeat customers out of our family! I will include several photos- first of the "maroon/pink" one, and some example pictures of what I purchased for our bedroom, and last but certainly NOT least- I'll post the new set, it is absolutely PERFECT!I rated 5 stars for lightness just because i didn’t want to bring the rating down, it’s a great set but it’s not particularly light, it’s more so hefty but is just the right weight to make you comfortable, any lighter would not be as good. The sheets are very soft and feel great to sleep in. It is easy to make and is perfect if you are like me and turn the air down in the house to go to be, it’s nice and warm. Overal great set.When the bedding first arrived I had laid out the comforter on my bed just to get an idea If I was going to like it before proceeding to wash it in case I was going to return it. I will say that the material on the comforter was rather shiny and I wasn't liking that. BUT after washing the comforter the shininess had dulled down and it actually looks great now! I find myself using the decorative pillows to lay on super comfortable and the quilted design is actually fresh and modern. I was afraid it was going to look like a grandma's quilt design but it isn't. The comforter for me is by far the best one I've had. It not too much so I'm not too hot or too cold. The material of the bedding seems of good quality. Definitely worth the money!I purchased the King size same color not the 8 piece last year and I loved it. I decided since that one held up pretty good I would purchase the California King size. Big mistake the color is different it is not as heavy as the king size and I am like this was more and you get less. Th black quilted blanket that came with I do like and it does not make you feel hot at all.Very attractive bed set! I love the red it's so pretty! The bottom blanket is awesome for warmer weather and the red comforter is thick and warm and both together can get toasty. With the pillows and the softness of the bedding it feels like being wrapped up in a fancy cloud. I haven't washed this set yet so I don't know if batting will lump up or not. I will wash on delicate for sure and possibly hang dry.Much lighter grey and green tint to color compared to picture. Comforter is very thin. Comforter is very wrinkled from shipping and needed to be steamed to get rid of most wrinkles.Not as light as I wanted. This is a heavy blanket. Like the overall quality.
